Personality

Positive Traits

Adaptable
Being left alone, Ashanti had to learn quickly in order to survive. The fawn is swift on their feet and cunning in their mind. Ashanti had learned most of what they know by observations, making them one who learns efficiently with little teaching.
Daring
Bold and robust, Ashanti is one who takes risks. While they have almost nothing to lose and everything to gain, Ashanti has no qualms with doing whatever they want and whenever they want.
Energetic
Wild is an understatement for this fawn. Ashanti had a vast amount of energy and with no company nearby, they have very little to do with it. Ashanti uses most of their energy running around and being a general nuisance to the herd.
Independent
Being abandoned and with little contact, Ashanti had to learn to survive on their own. Ashanti had issues taking help from many others, but they seem to live by themselves just fine.
Observant
Constantly vigilant, Ashanti is always aware of their surroundings. They are always quick to notice things, even the smallest of details. This trait is what keeps the fawn alive, their senses and attentions to details their only ways of survival.
Playful
Despite being in solitude, Ashanti is like any other fawn. Energetic and chipper, Ashanti enjoys playing around and being carefree. Most of the time the fawn is seen romping and frolicking in the plains, or playing in watering holes, but if Ashanti were to ever meet another fawn, they would probably be over the moon.
Venturesome
With the world at their feet, Ashanti had free range over everything in sight. They enjoy wandering around, exploring new places and seeing new sights. Whenever they see something new, Ashanti feels excitement of the unknown and the unexplored. With no real home, everywhere is home to the fawn.

Neutral Traits

Aggressive
Subject to being alone constantly, and only reviving violent contact with others, Ashanti has become rather dangerous. Extremely likely to attack or confront others they don't hesitate to lash out when they are threatened. Hostile and short tempered, they cannot help themselves when they feel the need to protect themselves.
Dominating
Rough and rowdy, Ashanti isn't one to be pushed around. Ashanti's aggressive nature makes them somewhat intimidating and they aren't known to back down from any sort of conflict if they are challenged. They try and force their influence on any unfavorable situation they may find themselves in and generally attempt to gain control when they feel disadvantaged.
Enigmatic
Due to their inability to speak or communication effectively, Ashanti has a hard time being understood. For the most part, others keep their distance from the loner but the few who have had interacted with them find Ashanti to be mysterious in the worst possible way. The uncertainty that Ashanti gives others due to their silence and lack of speech causes them to fear them.
Stubborn
Persistent and seemingly unforgiving, Ashanti doesn't know when to quit. Once Ashanit has their eyes on something, they'll stop at nothing until they get it. Their possessive and assulting personality causes them to make sure that they get their way by any means necessary. Ashanti's dogged determination to do as they please oftentimes gets them in trouble but it can also make their feats incredibly rewarding.

Negative Traits

Aimless
Without a family or a home, Ashanti often feels like they have no real purpose. Sometimes they feel like their life is empty and un-gratifying, leaving the abandoned fawn with nothing up dashed hopes and listless nights.
Barbaric
With no social interactions and little contact, Ashanti is primitive and unsophisticated. They are often seen as nothing but a wild animal who is uncivilized, which given their early life, is relatively true. However, Ashanti is also known to be aggressive and cruel to those who attempt to harm them.
Calculating
When confronted, Ashanti becomes cold and ruthless. They turn on every instinct that they have in order to identify every situation they are in. With their eyes locked, Ashanti is instantly scheming whenever they have contact with strangers and is always ready to fight or bolt from their company.
Devious
Sly, cunning, and coy, Ashanti is ever the playful devil. Ashanti loves to cause trouble and raise hell for those around them, especially those of the main herd. They enjoy causing trouble and being rowdy, even at the expense of the herd's patience and resources.
Neurotic
Abandonment and trust issues, Ashanti is abnormally sensitive, obsessive, tense, and anxious. These anxieties and inner troubles plague the young fawn's mind but have yet to hinder their ability to survive.
Predatory Watching the animals of the plains, Ashanti had learned to mimic exceedingly well. However, after watching nature take its place, Ashanti has learned that only the strong and the dominant survive. Because of this, Ashanti has learned to mimic the predators of the plains. They are protective of their makeshift home in the forest and even more so protective of themselves; they usually take to violence when threatened or scared, using what they've learned to ward off enemies.

History

Year 759-760 of the New Age - Before Birth

Much before their life began is unknown to Ashanti. Their mother was supposedly young and beautiful, but many aren't exactly sure. The fawn's mother fell pregnant and the doe pridefully (and maybe even vainly) showed off her swollen belly. Their mother was boastful about her fawn, saying it would be just as beautiful and alluring as she was. Many warned the young doe, joking that if she kept this up the gods would smite her where she stood; the doe only laughed, shrugging off their teasing and continued to coo over her womb.

As the pregnancy continued, the young doe found it hard to walk around, her energy drained and the shine in her coat faded. She looked ragged, dull, and the doe wondered what had happened to her. Alas, her belly still tingled with the small kicks of her fawn, the doe still smiling with pride.

Year 761 of the New Age - Birth

The Silverwood was a grateful shelter to the contracting doe; she had vowed to birth on her own, at least for the first fawn. The fawn's mother lay in the thicket all night, finally birthing a fawn as the moon rise high. A shriek erupted over the plains, the shrill sound of terror causing birds and tiny animals to scatter. The creature she had birthed was hideous; black took over the glorious golden pelt. The fawn looked like the death of a fire personified. The fawn's golden coat was suffocating in the deadly black that threatened to engulf it. The doe was petrified, her worst fears were recognized. She prayed, asking for forgiveness for her gluttonous and vainglorious ways. She didn't think the gods would truly curse her, but the proof was crawling towards her.

The doe bolted, planning on leaving the beast in the thicket to succumb to nature itself. However, fear of killing the fawn or allowing it to die brought more petrified thoughts to her mind. If she allowed this fawn to die, would the gods punish her more? Was raising and weaning this creature her punishment for her sins? If she left it, it would die and be on her conscious...if she helped it survive until it could on its own, it would free her burden and sin. Begrudgingly, the doe stayed, weeping as the fawn feverishly fed for the first time, unaware of its mother's pain.

Year 762-764 of the New Age - Fawnhood

The doe didn't speak to the fawn, she did not love it, cuddle it; she even refused to give the fawn a name. She regarded the fawn as nothing, and didn't even consider it her own; this child was of the gods, or a demon, she wasn't sure, but it was not hers. In public, she declared a still born and many grieved for her loss - if they knew the truth, the would pity her more. When the fawn was old enough to survive without her nourishment, the doe left, leaving the small fawn bleating helplessly alone in the thicket.

The nuisance fawn later became known as Ashanti by the herd. The wild and feral fawn was viewed with disgust and pity. The creature was hideously ugly, but no one dared near it. The fawn was savage, it lashed out like a beast, snarling and growling at anyone who attempted to put it out of its misery. Ashanti learned early on to stay away from strangers, and that at night they were safer. They then became known as a dangerous menace, and many warned against going near it, in fear of catching its disease.

Ashanti, however, learned to thrive on their own. They roamed wild and free, traveling farther from the thicket of abandonment more and more each day. Ashanti couldn't understand the creatures that looked similar to them, but they knew that they were not friendly. These creatures were not allies and were not to be trusted. Ashanti lost themselves into instinct, and though they were not very wise or experienced, they managed on their own. Ashanti's behaviors came from watching the predators of the plains, the young fawn eyeing them from a safe distance. The grunts and snarls they emitted were emulated by the fawn, Ashanti creating their own vocals to express them-self.

The group of Ashanti-look-alike creatures was dangerous, but the fawn began to crave knowledge of them. Slowly, Ashanti began to creep closer and closer to their ranks, hoping to know more. Alas, fear held them back, and now Ashanti faces maybe the biggest trial in their life - fight or flight.

Timeline and Roleplays

760
Autumn - The doe falls pregnant and gloats over her unborn fawn. Many warn her against her words and urge her to be humble; the doe sneers and continues her boasting
761
Spring - Ashanti is born and their mother is horrified. The doe believes she has been cursed for her behavior. She reluctantly raises the fawn in the safety and shelter of the Silverwood. Their mother claimed a still born fawn.
762
Ashanti is visited only once a day by their mother. The doe does not love them and she shows no feelings towards it. The fawn is merely an obligation.
763
Still raised by their mother, Ashanti surprisingly grows well despite the lack of nourishment. Their mother is still as distant and cold as ever, but cares for the fawn in fear of the wrath of the gods.
764
Summer - Ashanti is abandoned by their mother, the doe leaving one day and never returning. Ashanti, too afraid to leave the woods, stays put for days before moving. :bulletwhite::bulletpurple: | Mother | Doe | Silverthorne ??? | NPC
Hardly spoken to as a fawn, Ashanti doesn't know what to think of their mother. In fact, they don't know much about the doe at all. The doe simply came by to nurse the most, and even then, the visits were sparse. Ashanti doesn't remember anything from the doe, and what they do remember is a vague, distant memory.

:bulletwhite::bulletpurple: | Father | Stag | Silverthorne ??? | NPC
Ashanti never met their father, and thus, has no memory or interactions with him.

They're absolutely adorable! Perhaps them and Angelique could meet at some point and be buddies?
